India has various festivities and whether it is Karva Chauth, Raksha Bandhan, Diwali, or a Wedding, dressing up ethnically is a favourite task for women. Lehenga choli is the most vibrant outfit in Indian attire. It is so much in fashion that apart from weddings, it is worn even at beauty pageants at national and international levels and received "Best Costume Award". Many of the top designers like Ritu Kumar, Sabyasachi, and Manish Malhotra also design Bridal Lehenga Choli.
Types of Lehengas
Circular / Flared Lehenga- These lehengas gives the attire voluminous look. Though is mainly recommended for round body shape because it hides extra plump.
Mermaid / Fish Cut Lehenga- these lehengas have fishtail shaped bottom that are fitted from waist till knee and flares out at the bottom. This lehenga type is usually suitable for hourglass and pear shaped body types.
Kalidar / Panelled Lehenga- This lehenga type will have several panels attached together for fullness. These are suitable for Inverted and rectangular body shapes.
A-Line Lehenga- These lehengas flares from hip to hem keeping the flares minimal. This is suitable for hourglass and pear shaped body types.
Pavadai/Langa Davani/Langa Voni: This lehenga worn in south India and look like a half saree. This is a regional costume owned by juveniles despite of the body shapes.
Ruffle / Layered Lehenga- This lehenga type has one or several layers overlaid on the base skirt. This is apt for inverted triangle and vertical rectangular body shape.
